Lovely cemetery well worth a visit. Beautifully kept and quite despite being on the edge of the city. Must see.

Entry is free and this a beautiful cemetery to take a few minutes to just walk up and down the rows examining the different headstones.

Within the centre of Salzburg. Check out all the different graves, including the seven metal crosses close to the catacombs entry, which you also should inspect.

The cemetery was beautiful and worth the time to walk through as you stroll Salzburg. It is a great piece of history and very intriguing.

Why not spend a few minutes walking up the stairs for a view of St. Peter's cemetary as well as the steeples of nearby churches. Included with the Salzburg Card. It is a staircase with dugouts into the cliff face. See attached pictures, with the...More

If one wants to visit the catacombs one passes this so-called „municipal grave“, errected 1659. This tomb was used as kind of „temporary storage“ when space was scarce at the cemetery. In it the bones of Johann Michael Haydn. It is beutifull decorated with fresco's.
