Such a beautiful historic town full of interesting buildings. A great place to spend some time wandering through the town and by the river.

To begin we all should be parking legally everywhere. My word of caution is to make sure that you properly obtain a parking pass from the self service machines. You pull into town and the parking is behind the downtown buildings right along the river....More

Steyr has so much heart and soul and that goes way beyond the fact that the city has a long history as a manufacturing centre. Go down to the "Wehrgraben" and take a stroll along the tiny streams and enjoy the architecture, small cafes, pubs...More

Steyr was not even on our list of places to visit while we were in Austria however we drove by the signs for Steyr so many times on our way to other towns, we decided to stop. We were so glad that we did! Steyr...More

I went through the narrow streets of the old town, especially up and down the hill of the Lamberg castle. Suddenly I arrived to this big plazza. It is long and quite narrow, comparing it to other central plazzas of other European old cities, but...More

I was on a bicycle trip, visited Steyr for an hour only. It is a small town with extremely beautiful historic centre. You can also see a few old churches and a castle/palace. The town is in a hilly place, so you can also enjoy...More

Apparently (according to our guide) Steyr was not a bombing target in WW2 and so it’s historic centre is pretty intact. Clearly there is a commitment to preserve history too and this old city centre has some spectacular architecture. Parking is a little difficult and...More

Definitely worth a visit, especially for the Christmas markets. Fascinating old buildings, cobblestone streets, narrow passageways, ancient churches. Just go and enjoy

Steyr is interesting but the buildings quite ordinary. Stein am Rhine much easier to visit and buildings more beautiful. Passau similar except for pedestrian zone. Was not worth the drive from Linz.
