We took a river cruise from Germany to Linz, the boats dock very near the square, it was only a few minutes walk. We were given some free time and our meeting spot was by the tall column in the center, easy to find. There...More

Lovely old square to sit in and enjoy life. Had a nice vibe about it as did the rest of Linz. It's a university town so bright and lively. A nice place to visit on our river cruise

Linz Hauptplatz is a large square, pretty unremarkable as is Linz itself. A city tour bus stop is located there.

Famous for its tower and the balcony on that Rathaus where Hitler gave a speech the day after Austria was annexed. Smaller than other European main squares but still pretty. We shopped her for food after a trip to Mauthausen.

For history and Culture lovers is this a beautiful place to visit. So much history and after learning about the past you can enjoy a drink in one of the cafes near the 'platz'.

We were fortunate in that we had a tour guide but I believe it is worth finding out some of its history. There are some lovely buildings and it is a large area. You can get a tram essily from here.

A very nice main square with lots of nice Restaurants and cafes. Great hustle and bustle in the place and very clean. Well worth a visit to soak in the atmosphere.

This fascinating city is the hometown of Hilter and Himmler..they went to the same high school here. That doesn't recommend it for a visit, but the industrial parts of it was rebuilt after the war bombing and it has some high technology computing museums good...More

We visited on a Friday morning when the Farmer's Market was in full swing. The vegetables looked great. We bought some honey as a gift and had an interesting interaction; the vendor spoke no English and we speak no German. It was a fun sort...More

Hi Elena, Not sure about Postlingberg, but Linz you could do in two days: the first to see the sights, and the second to go back to that chocolate shop you wanted to go to but didn’t think it was worth it but now you wish... More

As far as we know the ships dock close to the Hauptplatz. It is a few minutes walk from the docking area to the Hauptplatz. Leave the ship and turn right - you should see the Hauptplatz after a short walk.
