As the largest, not tallest, cathedral on Austria, it’s stunning. Few minutes from the main square, a must see. We happened to walk in with a wedding in progress.

This does everything a good Cathedral should do and more. The stained glass windows are as good as any I have seen and the rest of the interior has an understated majesty. Well worth a visit.

For Christians this is an absolute must-see in Linz. The Mariendom is one of the most beautiful late-Gothic-styled Cathedral in Europe. If you pray, I would recommend having a pray there. If you are an atheist, please let yourself inspire by the magic that human...More

The highlight of this church is definitely the stained glass windows -- some are very traditional and some are very modern. An interesting fact we learned is that you can spend the weekend in the bell tower for meditation and contemplation!

It was a beautiful experience, amazing architecture of the building. And the warmth of the place too.

This cathedral in a neogothical style is the largest church building in Austria. The interior is really impressive. Interesting detail, that the vaults are covered in brick, and the cathedral has only one very tall tower. While most of the painted glass windows are classical,...More

For Cathedral afficianados this is a must visit if only for perhaps seeing the very best of 19th Century Gothic construction - yes this is a relatively new cathedral built on a grand scale in very traditional manner using 19th century technology rather than medieval...More

We spent the day in Linz while on a river cruise. This church is not far from the city center and worth a visit. It has many stained glass windows and 2 huge organs. It has a rather dark interior but there are many interesting...More

This is a really huge church, quite dark inside but well worth the visit. We came here from our river cruise. It's a short walk from the ship to many churches including this one.

I'll answer my own question- According to the Dom staff, you can only climb the spire as part of the tour, and that tour has limited runs. Contact domcenter@dioezese-linz.at for additional details.
