Views from this observation point are simply out of this world, especially in the fall foliage peak in the middle of October when I visited this sight (it was like a fairytale then). It is about 350 metres above the old town of Hallstatt but...More

Beautiful lake and mountain scenery from this viewing platform. Perfect for a sunny day! Very small skywalk platform so can be really crowded and you are likely to get photo bombed .There is a restaurant to chill and salt mine tour to take.

Hi we flew into Vienna from Scotland and got the obb train which is in the airport to aftang then changed to another train to Halstatt. The train stops at the ferry port which takes you to Halstatt. Train price was around £100 return. Ferry is only 2.50 euros. Well worth the trip it is amazing

Hi Bernard. I believe this is the only sky walk. We took the tram up and walked to do the salt mine tour first, which was a great experience for our entire family, and then walked down to the sky walk and tram. I know many people walk the entire way and do not take the tram at all, but I was recovering from back surgery and did not want to risk it. Hope this helps.
