As an experienced advanced open water and speciality deep diver with nearly 300 logged dives I was looking forward to my 2 dives on the wreck of the MS Zenobia and it didn't disappoint. The water visibility was excellent and this massive wreck, 172m long, had plenty to see. We went down to the prop's at 40m and also did a swim through the canteen. Plenty of marine life including a nice moray eel. Plenty of Cypriot Dive Centres offer dives here, many of them operating from the Larnaca Marina based "Queen Zenobia". This was an excellent dive vessel with plenty of room, easy entry and exit and an excellent lunchtime BBQ.

After diving Zenobia I begun falling in love with diving! I feel lucky because its in my country and I can visit it again and again. Visibility is perfect, so you can enjoy the dive. Its a real wreck that sank by accident and has a true story behind it.
You can do your Deep or Wreck speciality in combination.

I went for a double dive to Zenovia as part of my Advanced PADI in October. So much I loved the experience that I decided to do another 3 specialties there. Wreck is at about 42 meters bottom but because we are usinh EAN29 we decided to limit the dive to 32m. The best place I visited was a place next to the elevator that was totally dark and some cars were there. You can see a lot of groupers lion fish jacks and other species around and inside yhe wreck.
I went there with podvodnyi mir diving center that also included pickup from my house in Ayia Napa to Larnaca port and then using their RIB to the diving site and snaks/tea between the 2 dives (very professional center they have 2 shops one in Pyla and one in Ayia Napa).
Be prepared that its so amazing that it becomes an adiction to dive this wreck.

Long term live affair with Cyprus, virtually everybody speaks English, signposts are bilingual, they drive on the correct side of the road, you don't need electric adaptors(they use 13A sockets), food is great without being wierd.
Zenobia, is a MASSIVE wreck, just out of larnaca harbour. 14M down to its highest part, it is visible from the surface, 44M to its deepest part(propellers). Wreck is in good shape, but has been colonised by urchins, sponges, all manner of fish, an the visibility is awesome.
Personally I would re ommend Octopus Diving, with Ian Macmurry from Liverpool. Always a freindly crowd in his shop.
If Zenobia doesn't pique your interest, ask Ian - he has loads of other, shallower dive sites, from Dekhalia barracks, which you just walk into from the beach usually go to max depth of 6M there, and whilst there are plenty of fish there, they have also put an armoured car in to give you and the fish something to play with . Other sites like Chapel Rock are very scenic, and there are several with tunnels.
It's not called octopus dive centre for nothing - Ian seems to know the address of plenty of octopi(unless he carries a spare in his suit)
Go on give it a go, you don't know what your missing.

The Zenobia wreck is located in a perfect place very close to Larnaca Marina. The ship is still in a very good condition, you can find there a lot of sea creatures including fish, sponges and more

This is a must-dive wreck! You could pretty easily spend a week exploring this wreck alone. It is massive, and most of it is within reach of recreational divers, with the seafloor underneath the ship at about 42 meters. If you like diving, and if you are at all interested in wreck diving, you should make time for this wreck while you are in Cyprus.

I am not a diver but wanted to see this wreck. And guess what, they have boat cruises with glass floor going through this area. This is the wreck of a ship that same in the 80s and is very interesting to see. Apparently, it is one of the top diving sites in the world. Definitely recommended !

Yes of course you can... only certified divers are allowed to dive on the Zenobia anyway... safety first. Anything else is just mickey mouse... you should come and do a course with Alpha Divers and we will get you ready for diving on the Zenobia... :)

Hello everyone! I'm thinking of visiting Larnaca and diving.
Can I do that without any beginner courses (haven't dive ever in my life)? )

You can do a padi discover scuba diving experience
You will be able to dive to 12m with an instructor then make further dives with a padi professional
Unfortunately the Zenobia is a bit too deep to see on a dsd
