the Gateway is famous in Maltese history & is majestic, but can be traversed in minutes. It makes for an imposing photo when added to the walls to the left & right. The town inside the gate is more spectacular still

There is no denying that this is a majestic gateway, outside in the square before you enter is all hassle and bustle with horse carriages, taxi's, street vendors and tourists. Once you pass through the gates it is far more peaceful and tranquil ( well...More

The main gate really is a picture. Get passed the horsemen! And just imagine days gone by and the history that has passed through this gate into a wonderful city. A must do picture for any couple

If you visit Mdina, it is likely you will enter the fortified city through this main gate, after walking on a bridge. It is worth taking a picture as you enter, as well as from the gardens under the bridge.

Not sure why the main entrance should be a seperate review to the rest of the city. Yes its an impressive entrance via a bridge. It was very busy as a wedding group in cars and horse buggys wiggled through the tourists enroute to the...More

You could almost miss this gateway into the city. It is imposing and grand. There is a small map on one side to get your bearings, tourist information just inside the gate

Unless you particularly a fan of this type of archtecture there is little appeal here. It was of course the entrance to the old Maltese capital but the gate, like the city, is a disappointment.

The main gate is an impressive sight as one approaches the old city of Mdina in Malta. It spans a deep moat with beautifully landscaped gardens along the base

We walked here from our bus and were amazed with this as our first site of the Silent City . The entering this historic gate into the walled city was like entering a movie set .it was hard to stop taking pictures.
