The TI is inside the Reykjavik City Hall which is such a fascinating building on its own. The sidewalk going through the building makes it an integral part of the city. The people at the information desk are very helpful.

The Tourist Information Centre had very little to offer in terms of information about Reykjavik. Not much in terms of exhibits, etc. There is a help desk, but we were given some not so accurate information. Save time and go on-line.

Lovely modern building overlooking the lake, not far from the city centre. We went here primarily to buy some city passes for the museums, leaving with more leaflets of places to visit than we bargained for. very friendly & helpful staff.

This place has information on trips, the city, the buses, free bathrooms, phone chargers, chairs for resting, discount cards and the friendliest customer service people in all of Reykjavik. The building is beautiful, too.

This is probably the biggest visitors center I've seen. They have a lot of brochures that may be helpful if you prefer to plan on your own.

The information center is right next to the city hall and lake/pond. The people are very nice and it is a great place to stop for a bathroom if you are walking around for the day.

You pretty much help yourself to all you need on the shelves. If you have a specific question, clerks are probably willing to help, but you need to do most of the search yourself. If anything, go there to check out the huge 3D map...More

I'd advice against it if you're not used to driving on ice, better get a professional tour guide to do it for you.

Yes, you can go to the restaurant and shop but I wouldn't bother. I'd take the free walking tour of Reykjavik or visit Harpa.
