We did not take the paid tour, and instead wandered around outdoors and visited the church next door to the President's residence. That church has some interesting stained glass windows. The setting, far from the heart of downtown, is quite nice and offers great views.
The is the President's residence just outside of Reykjavik. It's a white building with a church nearby. We visited for 10 minutes in a city tour, which was enough time-wise. You can only view the front of the house for security reasons.
