You can only get to Vigur Island by boat but the short trip is worth it. A very special place with numerous birds, including my favorite, the Puffin. There is a short pathway that you can walk around part of the island on. Then you...More

Vigur Island has been inhabited by three generations of the same family since 1884, truly special. The thirty minute small boat trip/ferry to visit is calm and well worth it. Note that the boat had an interior and protected cabin that kept all 20 to...More

Wonderful variety of birds, some very close. Included nesting Arctic terns, puffins, guillemots, oystercatchers and eider ducks. Interesting coverage...More

Had a great time. Knowledgable guide and scenic island. It is small but there were lots of puffins, eider ducks and other birds there. Well worth your money. It is run by local people so it is authentic

The guide began her work after the boat had landed on the small island, and did her job well, telling about its history and the birds. A path is mowed alongside the coastline, giving a view of birds at sea. Puffins far away this time,...More

John - good question. If all I had seen of puffins was Vigur Island I would have been disappointed. We saw them but at a distance. The place where we saw them up close and by the hundreds was Latrabjarg Cliffs, the western... More
