The Cable Factory is the largest cultural centre in Finland. It houses e.g. museums, galleries, dance theatres, art schools and has working spaces for artists, bands and companies. Unique spaces are also available for rent on a short-term basis to stage concerts, exhibitions, festivals and fairs. Around 900 people work at the Cable Factory on a daily basis, and annually over 230 000 people attend different short-term events.

We spent a couple hours strolling around this large complex, previously a manufacturer of cables. It is an inspired re-use that has a multitude of galleries, museums and artistic schools. The Museum of Photography had an interesting exhibition of Francesca Woodman's works. Titled On Being...More

Worth a visit Plenty to see cheap entry 9 euros. Look for voucher book at travel info with discounted ticket

A former cable factory, Kaapelitehdas now houses three museums (photography, theatre and a restaurant museum), exhibitions, events, a restaurant, circus etc. The three museums themselves are excellent, and in addition there is always something more to explore here. Some exhibitions and events are free, too....More

every year, there is Design market as a part of Helsinki design week. in addition to those, i visited to shop at ceramic material shop in this site. otherwise i am not sure what is there inside the building

Easy to reach by tram on the western edge of Helsinki. Fascinating and huge with many public areas and a great cafe. Originally a large factory complex this is now turned over to art workshops, display areas and a couple of museums. The Photography museum...More

Helsinki has this great cultural centre. Exhibitions, dance, museums, expos, music, education. It is easy to reach this place using metro but I think not so many people do not know or remember this cultural centre.

I came here to visit a photography show - based around the use of Polaroid images. I stopped inside for cappuccino. Kaapelitehas puts on many different sorts of fine art and photography shows and is a great cultural centre. Easy to reach by tram.
