The museum is closed.....arriving in the city we had to learn that the museum is closed on the weekend and on Monday.

Nowhere nemed: just when you arrive you will find out that they are closed. Poor....

The Arbetets Museum was really interesting, from its unusual shape to the exhibitions. When we visited, the top floor had a photography exhibition on abandoned places. This is a hobby of ours, so to find out it was there was exciting. The photos were excellent. As you made your way down the stairs, there were small exhibits about one of the workers, Gertrude. These exhibits contained items of her work and model replicas of her home. They were fascinating. It was in Swedish, but we'd been learning Swedish before we went, so could understand some of it. Our friend translated the rest. There was also an exhibition about the work of a famous satirical cartoonist.

A fun visit when in Norrköping
Oct 2017
To take a stroll walk in the area and visit the museum will give you a lot more knowledge on how the oldtimers made the fabric for clothes etc back in the days. Many of the building stands on water and in the evenings the lights make in very pretty and almost spooky to walk around. Almost like a miniature Venice. If you're into culture I would really recommend this!

Interesting, free museum

Quite an interesting museum, telling the history of Norrköping as one of the main industrial centres of Sweden. Nice, modern exhibition, and what's best, it's free too!

Well located!

The museum shows work life and work. It has exhibitions about the conditions of work, the daily wear and tear of workplaces and the history of work, as well as documenting the history of industrial society. The museum is also known for highlighting gender perspectives in its exhibitions.

Wasted opportunity
Jul 2017 • Friends
First of all, it's a museum of everything and nothing. Very interesting and honest, but far too small exhibition about the end of industrialism in the city and its modern history. A nice, interactive one about future's country, also related to work as the museum's name suggests. But the rest is just uninteresting for an average tourist. They could have used the iconic building in a better way. At least it's free.

Very interesting museum
May 2017 • Couples
Interesting museum that tells, not only the story about the city of Norrköping, since the Industrial age, but also, some interactive parts for kids, about the jobs for the future, recycling and waste. Free admission!
