According to the website, the castle is a good activity for children and you can jump on a stick horse and the ghost Laban lives in the castle. Once in place, there was none of the above. There is no children's section or children's activities, nor is there a guided tour. This is probably available on certain other days, but the entrance price was the same: SEK 160 for adults and SEK 60 for children. Perhaps it is better during holidays and weekends, but if you are a family with children looking for activity on a normal weekday, the castle is not a good option. Even if we had only been adults, it wasn't worth it; expensive for a single exhibition + a few rooms with older paintings.

The architecture of the castle presents architectural peculiarities, which differs it from others I had known in Western European countries.
Besides the castle being beautiful, it is still surrounded by a river, connected by a beautiful stone bridge.
Place that is very worth visiting, including its inner area.

Very nice castle in middle of Örebro city. Nice park around the castle and lake. Recommended for a walk past the canal and around the castle. Not worth the entrance fee, don't get be wrong, very historical and interesting place, but fee was too much for what you got.

Örebro castle is spectacular from the outside and we were looking forward to go inside. But there isn't so much to see or experience of the castle itself on the inside. The castle does not contain old furniture. There are some paintings (of course) but that is about it.

Parts of the castle are used for different exhibitions so it is worth checking out what is currently at display. We liked the "Drottningarna" exhibition with clothing from the TV series about Swedish queens.

The children's corner and treasure hunt were appreciated by our 7 year old daughter but it was still too little.

The staff was really helpful and friendly.

There are a lot better castles to visit not so far from Örebro.

Went on a guided tour, which was included in the package, which was more than expected! Petter, as our guide was called, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and humorous in a super nice way. Would have liked to have gone another half hour. Thanks!

Had a lovely visit to Örebro Castle today. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and an informative and entertaining guided tour (thank you Nathalie) around the outside.
Especially enjoyed the exhibit about the Swedish queens. Well recommended even though I hadn’t seen the TV-series.

Animal experience that one sits little left with. Payed 450kr to go a modernized castle with 80% fantasy stories and 20% interesting real history. The best advice to people is that one should not expect museum history or experience the authenticity of the castle - it was minimal left of. The kids were also very disappointed.

In Sweden we visited many castles and palaces. We are not very experienced in history, but when we visit these places, we expect to see historical furniture and get an idea of how life was lived in such a place. This is unfortunately not the case with Örebro Slott. If you don't have children under the age of 10, you will probably be disappointed like we were. The lack of period furnishings was apparently replaced by occasional modern installations and children's play areas. We will avoid such a place next time.

full of history, maintained and expanded during Vasa reign, they did so much for Sweden, they left art and history landmarks all over Swededn in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Orebro..etc..etc

I couldn't get inside, my time was very limited, I was behind the schedule in my 18 days of castle tour in Sweden, but I consider myself privileged just to be able to peak at the exterior.
Orebro the town is also beautiful, i will write a review on it too. Great place to visit!

Impressive and beautiful. The staff were really nice. They had a out-of-place exhibit of old mobile phone. But it was quite nostalgic. The caste is old, and intact. And it is surrounded by a moat. It's like a medieval dream.
