Beautiful church. It needs some restoration but it's fits so naturally in the picturesque city of Zemun

Zemun is easily reached by bus from Belgrade after a short trip through New Belgrade. Zemun is a charming Austro-Hungarian town, well worth visiting, not least for the nice restaurants alongside the River Danube.

This church in Zemun is not far away from the Danube river bank. The architecture is Baroque, which is not typical for the orthodox churches. Worth visiting it.

The Baroque iconostasis is fantastic and has easily weathered the many years that it has inspired the faithful. It's a traditional Serbian Orthodox church with no pews but so much beauty and history.

We stopped in during a service, but beautiful painting insude of the Serbian Orthodox Saints. Great examples of the painting of the late 1700's.

While simple on the outside, the interior of this 18th century church is really impressive. You can see the original frescoes fading, somewhat covered, almost haunting in their presence. The altar is very beautiful.
