Children's author Hans Christian Andersen, known as H.C. in Denmark, has been immortalized next to Copenhagen's City Hall. He's holding a book and cane and has a well-worn lap from all the children (of all ages) who have sat on his knees.

Iconic statue of Hans Christen Andersen in the foreground of Tivoli Gardens. I recommend taking this picture around dusk or at night with a tripod when the Tivoli Gardens sign is lit up in the background. Sometimes it takes a while to get the picture...More

My boy really want to see this status and here we're. We glad we didn't miss it. It located on the corner near the town hall opposite from the Tivoli Gardens. It well worth the visit since we're planning to visit the garden.

If you are a generation of H.C.Andersen fairy tale, this is a must. Also to take kids to see the most famous writer. His statue is just opposite the Tivoli. We found no notice where to go so we had to ask for the direction.

Just to make a special trip to see this I might have passed, however, if you take the Hop On Hop Off bus and sit on the right side next to the window you can take a great picture

this is a larger than life statue of the famous author, located on the corner of the main town hall opposite the Tivoli Gardens, definitely worth searching out when you are in the area

HC Andersen was a popular author and his statue is near Tivoli. It’s quite a popular site since HC is very popular with kids. Nothing extraordinary but worth a visit.
