We visited Copenhagen about a week after a visit to St. Petersburg, Russia where we saw more than our fair share of Russian Churches. Surprised to see the gold onions in Copenhagen, but we recognized immediately.

We passed this Russian church on the way to the Marble Church & the Amalienborg Palace. So interesting to see this very ornate church in the middle of the block of plainer buildings - I'm not an architect so I'm not sure the style of...More

St. Aleksander Nevsky Church is well worth the visit if you visiting the Frederik's Church as it is less than 20 meters away. It is a lovely church and the only Russian orthodox church in Copenhagen. You just go up the stairs and is open...More

Our cruise ship was berthed nearby (10/12/17) when we recently came across this beautiful Alexander Nevsky Church which is the only Russian Orthodox church in Copenhagen. We didn’t go inside as we had limited time. According to researching this beautiful building, it was built by...More

We were only able to view from outside as it was closed when we went, but it's a stunning piece of architecture. The Eastern Orthodox style stands out amongst the churches of Copenhagen. It's en route from the Design Museum to the Marble Church.

This church is beautiful, with its gold domes shimmering in the sun, and is so different from all the other churches in Copenhagen, as it is Russian Orthodox. And yet it does not appear on tourist maps, and we only came across it by chance....More

This is a really pretty church really overshadowed by the Marble Church in the same area. Its shame that we couldn't get inside when we visited but got a few nice photographs of the outside. If it wasn't so close to the Marble Church it...More

Want to see a bit of Russia but can't get a visa to do so? This church is straight out of Russian architecture. Its right past the dome cathedral so make sure you're looking up as you walk or you'll miss it.

Compared t all the other churches around this has the very different orthodox style and architecture and thus stands out as a big contrast. Never the less the golden domes stand out and if you catch them on a sunny day they will really shine...More
