Top ways to experience Peblinge Lake
The area
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Great for a walk or people watching
Dec 2020
There are a series of ponds/lakes here which were originally part of the fortifications of Copenhagen then became the water supply and now have a biking and walking paths around them with lots of waterfowl swimming in the ponds. Even in December it is very busy with Danes running and biking around the place but still great for a walk or faster exercise if that is your thing too.

Lovely place to be outdoors
Feb 2020
It was the first (and only) clear day of our Copenhagen visit and it was a beauty, cool, crisp and sunny. We started at Peblinge So and walked all the way along the canals before heading to the Kastellet and eventually CopenHot. Yes, we do love to walk?
These canals make a great outdoor area, a lovely walking spot, many water birds, many walkers, runners etc and so very pretty. A great place to get some exercise or just enjoy the outdoors. We even got a bit sunburnt!

Night walk

Always the water gives you a relaxing feeling and calms your head. I enjoyed that place on the first night in Copenhagen.
You should go.

Beautiful lake for a stroll around
Jan 2019 • Family
We visited in January so most of the lake was frozen but that added to the beauty of the surroundings. We watched the wildlife whilst walking all the way around with our young children. A perfect was to appreciate nature whilst getting the most of the clean fresh air.

Large body of water
Dec 2018 • Couples
Our hotel ( Hotel Kong Arthur) looked out on to the lake so we took a stroll along the banks one evening which was very pleasant but watch out for joggers.

Summer pedal boats
Aug 2018 • Couples
Loved the pedal boats (duck, swan, or black swan for two people or the boat for four people). You can rent them at the Kaffesalon bar located on the lake.

Highly recommend the swan or paddle boats (you can buy tickets at Kaffesalonen). We had a wonderful time paddling alone this beautiful lake.

Good Area for a Stroll
Feb 2018 • Solo
Peblinge Lake is sort of the area that divides the historic city center from the more residential Copenhagen. Nice place for a stroll and just to enjoy a nice pleasant day.

Nice Waterfront
Nov 2017 • Friends
Lovely waterfront area with lots of swans and ducks. Walking trails and a footbridge. Right across the street from Hotel Kong Arthur.

Lovely recreational area
Sep 2017 • Business
The lakes (Søerne) in Copenhagen are great for walking, biking and running (6 km) and have a central location. There are cafés around for a coffee break or just have a rest on one of the benches along the route.
