Oldest Calvinist church with a crypt from the 11th Century Catholic church Calvinist church
Apr 2019 • Friends
This active church has a trafitional Calvalnist servicee with ablack garbed priest with a white ruffled collar leading the service. The spare church seats no more tha 250 and has some surprising decor suggestive of its earlier catholic origins.

Originally in the early 11 th century a Catholic church which got razed the Calvinist church ahs remains suggestive of its origins still
The decor is heavily white with dark wood and simplistic.

The chairs are also spare and not great for a lingering service or sermon.

Worth a visit
Mar 2019 • Solo
Initially, I passed by this church because I was making a beeline for the Cathedral. Finding myself with some extra time, I decided to stop in. I am so glad I did. I entered the building to the soaring sounds of an organ playing, in preparation for a concert that would have been amazing to attend. It is small but has the remnants of interesting frescos, and several lovely, historically interesting rooms, especially the old crypt church church and the peaceful enclosed Monastery garden. Really lovely.

"Church of Our Lady" is a lovely church
Jun 2018 • Friends
This church is a little removed from the city center and benefits from that, in that it wasn't as crowded as the cathedral. I picked up a paper about it that was meant for children, but I certainly got a lot from it. The church is the third on this spot and the crypt is what remains from the second that was not found until the 1950s. It is worth it to go down the stairs to see it. As the children's paper noted, the replica crucifix there is not what you are used to; Christ looks more like a Norse king. Be sure to look under his arm at the tiny window with the Trinity symbol.
Also, step out the short door in the back of the church to find yourself in a courtyard and go to your left to enter a lovely chapel.

Church of Our Lady and a MUST TO SEE
Jun 2018 • Couples
The English name is: Church of Our Lady. The church is nice but the crypt (dates back to 1060) is the show stopper. It is free and well worth the stop. There was plenty of light to see, no flashlight needed.

Ok museum

The church is ok and probably quite nice if you like churches. Like most churches it's free, so take a look.

A must see
Dec 2017 • Friends
This church dates back to the origins of Christianity in Aarhus, as the first wooden church was built on this site, outside the confines of the Viking town. Humble as it may seem it holds great beauty. Please go visit the undergrount crypt.

This is a must to see the old crypt
Sep 2017 • Couples
You must come here to see the old crypt as it dates to the 11 th century (1060). You will need a torch or your mobile phone light to get a good view of the tomb stone down there.

Restful spirit
Aug 2017 • Friends
We visited here only briefly with friends and found the place peaceful and restful. Would have loved to sit longer. The crypt and monastery are just lovely places and I think more worthy of time than the main sanctuary.

A peaceful and historically interesting visit
Apr 2017 • Solo
This church is a hidden gem in Aarhus and holds several historically intersting rooms, e.g. the crypt church (the oldest preserved stone church in the Nordic countries), the Monastery church and the enclosed Monastery garden. Definitely worth a visit!

Peaceful

A beautiful ceiling and interesting statues make this a place to visit if you are close by. Don't walk miles unless you have an interest in church architecture or religious buildings as it won't stunning you but definitely one to see if you do.
