Exceptional view from the bridge. You will like the colour of the water. It is still beautiful despite in winter. But don't forget to stop by at the souvenir shop/ cafe nearby. It's right there at the parking area and pretty cute. A cup of...More

Our tour group made a brief stop here to see the canal. We walked across a bridge spanning the canal. It was quite deep and there was a bungy jump platform next to the canal. The bungy jump wasn’t open when we were there in...More

Not as exciting as the travel books and pamphlets suggest but quite the achievement for the day when it was built. While certainly not the Panama or Suez Canal’s, it is in its own right quite amazing. That such a short canal could eliminate hundreds...More

Stopped by on the way from Athens to Nafpaktos and we are glad we did! Truly an amazing accomplishment and the view is great! Restrooms and a few shops where you can stretch your legs and get a frappe too!

My husband's an engineer and I've worked with engineers for decades, so we were eager to see the Corinth Canal, on landing in Piraeus September 24. People dreamed of building it for 2,000 years because to get from the Aegean Sea to the Adriatic, ships...More

This was on my list of things to see so it was nice to see. It does not take long to do. There is a nice size parking area. You have to cross a street to get to the bridge to look down to see...More

My wife and I were here on a Globus tour and we had just left Athens. The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from...More

In my case, imagining the canal was very different from watching it for myself. To me it is more an engineering marvel by virtue of a number of failed projects, bankruptcies and protracted history, but still worth visiting.

There is something about watching ships sail by. But nothing beats watching them traversing a narrow man made canal linking two seas. The Corinth Canal is just 6.3km long but shortens the sea route between the two seas by 700km, and in the earlier days, avoided...More

It's not really an attraction - but it is spectacular. Not a particularly nice area, and not much to do except walk over the bridge, and walk back again. But is is worth the effort - and I don't like heights!

For some asinine reason, Trip Advisor will not allow a URL to be posted in an answer. I'm sorry, but it's their rule, and none of my own. Search Google, Yahoo, whoever, for "Greece Corinth Canal Boat Tour". You will love... More

Don't book in Athens. There are places in Corinth near the canal. When at the dock, you can see what the various tour boats look like. I certainly agree that the view from the rim is beautiful, but it should be linked... More

I cannot speak with authority about the business of closing for any part of the year, though it was never mentioned to me by anyone. I can say that transit of the canal is impossible for any vessel with a beam of more than... More
