Just an unbelievable place. Walking from the coastal road takes about 40 minutes to first waterfall and pool. Place is really beautiful, water is crystal clear. In July was really hot and water was refreshingly little bit colder than sea water. From first waterfall to...More

You walk for 40 minutes following the rivers and when you see the waterfall you know that you are in heaven! You definitely have to go more up to see the rest but take care if you are not fit!

It ie a wonderful experience both to walk and to dive in Fonias Gorge. The deep water is refreshing and the view is fascinating. Nearby, there is an nice cafe restaurant. Note that you will need comfortable hiking shoes.

From the point of view of nature Samothraki is known all over Greece for its Mount Saos and for its 'Vathres', the water ponds so unique for an Aegean island. The most spectacular, but also the most visited, are the water ponds in the gorge...More

Beautiful walk along the river. Heavy rain damaged the island a lot 2 weeks ago, I suppose it's "stonier" than ever! It was difficult to find the track, we walked along the left bank, and crossed when we started climbing. A " must do"!

The water falls are fascinating. Not only the cascade and ponds, but the whole surrounding with 500 years old trees and typical shrub is a must-see. During our visit the weather was cool but we still immersed ourselves into the cold water. It was revitalising....More
