One of the must do in Chios! Lots to see and learn: Kanari's sword/knife and other paraphernalia of 1821, and to learn about Chritoher Columbus'assciation with Chios!

I have visited the Chios Maritime Museum several times and I am always pleasantly surprised how such a small museum strives to keep on developing, (take a look at their updated and excellent website) adding to their exhibits, exploring educational opportunities and above all the...More

In fact, a real "maritime" museum, founded and runned by a private foundation, little but nice. Some ship models and paintings are there.

Nice to be able to see this museum as you explore the town of Chios. It does give you a flavor of the long maritime history of the area. The model ships are interesting.

Key in the door, no opening times listed anywhere, heard somebody inside but after repeated knocking, would not open the door. Give it a miss-obviously not interested in visitors nor any clue how to run a museum!
