Historical cave ... nothing more
Sep 2019
We visited the cave during the boat trip and …. Just visited for a few pictures and nothing more!

Our boat entered a partly inside for some pictures and that was all – no swimming or landing. Anyhow – I was not disappointed as I was expected exactly this thing and for me was Ok, but I felt another passengers’ disappointment.

Cave is accessible only from the sea side by the boat and if you are with small motor boat can land, but with big cruise boats – no way.

Personally – I was expected a bigger cave, to have something which is developed as a touristic place, but the only story is which they saying to you from the boat.

Just do not expect something more ….

Beautiful cave. Available only by boat trips.

Big beautiful cave. It can be reached only by water (big or small boats). It is a historical landmark as during WWII 1941-1942 a submarine hid in the water in this cave. There are boat tours that take you to this cave. The boat will stay only for few minutes to take some pictures.

We visited this cave by the boat, with no swim inside...the boat go inside only for less than half...the cave is very small and nothing special...it is not worth visiting it...spend your time in other way! If you want to see really good caves, go to Italy!!!

Just a cave

It was part of the daily cruise. The cave was not as big as i have expected. Still it was a nice experience, especially considering the history of the cave (there was a submarine in the cave hiding from the Nazis during wwii). Nothing special, but if you go on a cruise that offers a trip ti the cave i reccomend a swim.

It's a cave, nothing more nothing less but usually seen as part of an all day boat trip so as it's part of the itinerary then O.K. Don't hire a boat especialy to see it.

Interesting but lacks drama ...

We visited the cave with the day cruise we were doing. The cave is small and has no significant features. The most interesting features are the history, the role it played in WW2 as a submarine hideout for the Greek navy and the skillfull manoeuvring by the cruise ship captain in putting the boat halfway into the cave. The waters look clear and are blue green. Not in the same class as the blue grotto of Capri.

It is beautiful and big, but there is not much you can do or see. It’s history is interesting but other then that, the cave itself is not that impressive.

BIG CAVE WITH A UNIK
Sep 2018
It is possible to approach the yacht to the entrance of the cave. The depth of the water is close to 60 meters so that it is not possible to anchor but you can use the dingi and enter the cave, tie the dingi to the rock located in the northern part of the cave and swim to the southeastern part ... Visitors laid a stone on a stone Nice look. The water is very clear

An interesting swim at a historic area

There are many tour boats from Lefkada, and perhaps other islands nearby, that go to Papanicolis cave. The scenery is beautiful both on the way there and in the cave. The spot is historic and make sure you don΄t miss to hear all about it. I would recommend taking the Odysseia tour from Nydri, Lefkada.
