About
Bookended by a cliff, you have to descend a steep flight of steps to reach this breathtaking beach boasting fine powdery sand and calm sapphire waters. There is a restaurant up top with staff on the beach ready to take your order and send your food and drinks down to you. Porto Katsiki is best enjoyed before noon or in the evening, as multiple large tourist boats stop by in the afternoon. Bring an umbrella as the cliff, while magnificent, offers little in the way of shade. Stay out of the restricted areas as there is a risk of falling rocks. – Tripadvisor

The landscape is gorgeous. Parking costs 10 euros, access is via a rather steep but accessible staircase. The beach does not have sunbeds, you must have shoes, the shade is only until 11 AM, after that the sun appears and you must have an umbrella with you There is a bar before the stairs where you can buy food and drinks.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 23 July 2023
- Anita 🤔Cluj-Napoca, Romania7 contributionsTruly beautifulVery beautiful beach, i was really impressed with the color of the water. It had the perfect temperature for swimming. Food and drinks are brought to you directly to the beach, the prices are a little bit high but considering the delivery directly on the beach it was ok. The acces in the water is all pebbles, so consider getting some water shoes. In the afternoon it is very hot and little to no shade is available. So i would recommend going very early and bringing an UV umbrella! By 2pm the parking area is packed and also the beach is VERY crouded. The downside is that there are no showers and the toilets are up where the food area is. Very few trash bins in the food area and also very little shade. Overall a good experience as long as you get there early and leave when the temperature is too high.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 31 July 2023
- kelimaleTirana, Albania301 contributionsTh most attractive place in LefkadaThe most beautiful place in Lefkada and Europe. You have to feel it for the special beach. When you come by car you see from above (the road ) the astonishing view of the wide bay : it just let you freezing for seconds: the blue color of water, the big rocks aside the beach in white&beige colors, partialy white sand &pebbles gave you an amazing Panorama. Because of stones its a bit hot there so better to go after 4 pm to assist. We had some fast food there but better to have sth itself as its a bit expensive (chicken salad 15 eu in a cartoon bowl ,pita giros cheaper etc. They may bring you food at the beach, but consider to have 100 stairs to go down to the beach.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2023

Very nice beach in Lefkada, with turquoise-blue water and white pebbles. One needs to go down on several steps to get to the beach. Very crowded.

It was a beautiful experience going to the beach of Porto Katsiki. The road was a bit tiring but it was worth the effort. The color of the sea was amazing, like none of the beaches we visited in the western part of the island. A very nice memory! 🌺 👏

The location is beautiful! Surf shoes are a must. Patients when driving as the road has many hit pin turns and is narrow. Worth a few hours of the day. It gets hot so and umbrella is a good idea as well as a good amount of water to keep you hydrated.

Likewise the Egremni beach, my advise is to come with a boat tour from Nidri.
Katsiki is easier to access with around 100 steps, compared to Egremni's 400. Parking fee is steep with 10 Euros flat rate.
Katsiki is way smaller than Egremni which means huge crowds.
On both there're no sunbeds, umbrellas, bars,...so you must bring your own.
Tour boats from Nidri charge around 30 Euros pp for all day, visiting 7 spots including Kefalonia and Ithaka (lunch included).
In both, Egremni and Katsiki the boat stays for one hour. In Katsiki boat is tendered because it's small. You can swim in the bay with very few around, and have time to swim to the beach if you want to and come back.

Beach is stunning visually, especially when looked at from above, but a 1000 tourists sitting one on top of another is what ruins it, other smaller beaches are much better to spend the entire day at, but it's still worth visiting, colors are breathtaking.

Pretty but very commercialised beach. Restaurant at the top of the stairs, the one on the right, refused to give a bill for food or a receipt. We were vastly overcharged by the man serving and had to dispute the total. After a discussion a small amount was refunded but we were still overcharged. Through observing others, we saw that Greek people were not overcharged. Tourist rip off.

Bring your umbrella and make sure you have everything with you because there is a long way on the stairs to buy a bottle of water. The landscape is amazing, make sure you step carefully in the water because there are rocks inside! Don't stay to close to the water or you get flooded! :)))

Salve, volevo sapere se da Vassiliki si può arrivare a porto katsiki con taxy boat. Se si, quanto costano? Grazie in anticipo.

Agios Nikitas to Porto Katsiki on a 2 wheeler(I am very comfortable to ride a 2 wheeler).
1. Are there petrol stations on the way?
2. Is it too windy that it becomes impossible to ride a bike?

It's a 30-kilometer trip to Porto Katsiki. I do not know how much your engine consumes, but 5-6 liters should get you back. It is an EKO gas station, 2 km from Agios Nikitas, near Kathisma Beach, but it did not look very good. My advice if you have to get full is to go back to Lefkada Town, there are lots of gas stations at good prices, the closest being a Shell gas station. Regarding the wind, I do not think it's going to make you trouble in the summer months. The route is wonderful but full of curves and in some portions it is narrow.
