Beautiful to look at, hard to swim in
Jul 2021
From the viewpoint, the beach looked so beautiful that you thought it was a dream. However, it's really hard to swim in because the bottom is full of big rocks/pebbles, and the strong waves kept crashing you against the rocks. It gets deep quickly. The water is very "cloudy", so you can't see the sea bottom or even your hand/feet.

Truly stunning
Jul 2021
Most amazing turquoise sea with large waves. Though it is an uncomfortable pebble beach and no swimming. Quite a steep drive down but worth it.

Breathtaking

We stopped off at the viewpoint above to marvel at this amazing beach. The colours are so impressive, it almost doesn’t look real. A must-see.

Large family beach
May 2021 • Couples
À large very family oriented beach, rather nice but not exceptional. You can try to escape to the west extremity to find a naturist compatible area.

OVERRATED!
Jun 2021 • Couples
Very disappointed with this beach. The sand looks like a construction site, there is no infrastructure whatsoever (bar, sun beds) and hills around it are not that nice. Go to Antisamos, much better!

BEST FROM ABOVE
Jun 2020 • Couples
I give it a 4 because, although stunningly, breathtakingly beautiful from above, when you get to the beach it is all white pebbles. Whilst they in themselves are so, so lovely, they are hard to walk on.

The beach into the sea shelves quite quickly and is not such a good place for young children ... nor for anyone who isn’t a fairly good swimmer.

There are a lot of underwater currents there too ... so whilst it’s a lovely beach, it can be a challenge, particular when the surf is up!

I’ve been there when the sea has been as flat as a pond and have floated quite happily in the aqua sea ... I’ve also been there where the sea has tried to claim my bikini bottoms as I’ve tried to get out!

In fact, if you have mobility issues, Myrtos is a bit of a no, no.

So relaxing
Apr 2020
Visited Cephalonia quite a long time ago (when it was and hopefully still is) unspoiled & HAD to visit this beach for snorkelling and a swim.

From a distance, the beach & see look stunning, but it is not sand, it is small pebbles and the water is such a light blue colour because the cliff walls are (I assume) chalk, so once you get into the water & try to have a look underwater, you can't actually see anything hahahaha

We were also warned about a jellyfish invasion, so imagine my horror when snorkelling and my right arm waved through what felt exactly like the top end of a jellyfish - my friends all fell about laughing when all they heard through the snorkel was "WHAT THE **** IS THAT?!?!!" only to discover that it was a discarded plastic bag which as the exact texture of a jellyfish! Hey ho

Great place - Cephalonia was (and is) a wonderful place.

Road closed cannot visit
Oct 2020 • Couples
Not sure why no one else has written these to save people time but the road is closed, we tried to walk down and another point the road is fully closed and says not safe to walk down - not sure if the road has come away or there has been landslides like in Assos ( also don’t bother visiting as roads closed due to damage from landslides also)
