Located on the north side of Mandraki harbor, this church was constructed in the 1920's by the Italians. The Gothic exterior is based on the Church of Saint John in the Medieval City, complete with Gothic-style doors, windows, and arches. Originally serving the Rhodes Catholics,...More

I can't tell you how surprised I was when I saw the name The Church of the Annunciation for this church. I always thought there was just one Church of the Annunciation and it was in Nazareth, Israel. And how pleased I was when I...More

Very disappointed that the church was closed on each of the occasions we were at the entrance to the harbour. The building itself however is nice to look at and walk around.

While this cathedral is relatively new for Rhodes ( built in 1925), its location on the northern end of the Mandraki Harbour promenade is stunning. Frescoes of icons line the interior as do low-hanging crystal chandeliers. A worthwhile place to visit while circumambulating the city.
