I enjoyed walking around the isle of Patmos with a knowledgeable guide - Tony. There is much to see from Christian buildings and artwork, village side streets, shipyards, beaches and natural beauty to clear air and water. It’s a photographer’s dream with lots of material to work with.

Very nice island. Not as busy as others and has great history. Cave of the apocalypse is here and definitely worth the trip. People are friendly and lots of places to eat and have a good time.

There are many, many places to explore on this extremely historic island and you are spoiled for choice.

If you are up for the challenge and healthy and have good walking shoes, you can go from the harbour up to Chora. If not, get the bus and you will do a lot of walking around these beautiful narrow streets lined with white houses which are around 500 years old I believe.

If you want something more leisurely, the harbour is perfectly flat and absolutely beautiful as well. Try and avoid the cruise ships as they deposit hundreds of passengers which makes it too busy.

Walk right through the town and there is another small beach at the back so there’s a lot you can do around this area.

Patmos has a remarkable network of old paths that connected the settlements with the rural areas and pastures, but also with the Holy Monastery of Saint John the Theologian.Τhe routes of the paths of Patmos reveal breathtaking landscapes, ancient and modern monuments, monasteries, the rich flora and fauna and the beautiful coastline. But mainly they bring to light the unique stories of the island's inhabitants.

Wow what a beautiful little harbour town. So relaxing to walk around the harbour of an evening. Lots of little restaurants and shops. There is a beautiful restaurant about 5 minutes walk actually on the beach.

We are used to walk / trek in several greek islands and we find the Patmos paths a little "poor" : short treks, very badly maintained (number 5 is a ravine) and badly signposted (number 7). Definetely , Patmos is not the place where you will be surprised in walking. It is a pity as this island is no nice ! Should be improved and enlarged.

Patmos has a network of walking trails. Since it’s not a crowded island, they offer an opportunity to “get away” and explore on foot. Good exercise. Terrific vistas. Unique photo opps. They are well marked with distinctive signs so you won’t get lost. Even if you do, there is always the sea around to help get reoriented.

Excellent town to walk around. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to stop, sit and chat. And of course great shops with souvenirs or clothing and specialty items. There is a path (or you can also take the road) up to the Monastery.

A small and inviting island full of religious history. The locals are the most hospitable and friendly I have ever met. We felt like we knew everybody since wherever we went were welcomed with smiles and pleasant wishes. A clean and easily visited island.
