Overview
More
Established in 1903, Estate Argyros is run by Matthew Argyros, 4th generation of winemakers. Based in Episkopi Santorini, the winery owns and cultivates 120ha of vineyards with ungrafted (original rootstock) phylloxera safe plants averaging 80 years old, including some of the oldest vines of the island (over 200 years old). All vineyards are planted with our heritage grape Assyrtiko, among other indigenous varieties of Santorini, such as Aidani and Mavrotragano. Our mission is to protect the unique varieties of Santorini and present their pure character.

Instead of booking a "winery tour" the whole day we went for a wine tasting just in the Estate Argyros. It was a very wise decision. We tasted the santorinian wines just the same and it did not take a whole day to do so....More

This winery has a beautiful setting and some excellent wines, especially the vin santo. The hospitality was lovely, too. If you are flying out of Santorini to go on to Athens (or anywhere else), this makes a great last stop before getting to the airport,...More

We had such a great experience visiting this winery, much more than just wine tasting. Together with my partner we have booked a 7 wine tasting menu. When we arrived, the table was set up beautifully, our seats facing the wine yards: such a great...More

Great wine and pairing. Except for the bad attitude and lack of hospitality of the woman who was the greeter/gift shop attendant, which soured my experience and almost makes me want to give a 3, but that would not do the great wine, beautiful venue...More

We booked a 3 winery tour and this was our second stop. The tour was short but the guide very friendly and informative. We spent about 10 minutes outside with the guide briefly explaining about the plants and the environment and then about 5-10 minutes...More

Great tour and tasting by a trained œnologist! Not at all rushed. Highly recommend the more expensive tour which includes seven wines (including 3 vinsanto) and a ton of food to pair with it.

I would recommend that you book in advance. While I believe that you can just "stop by", the experience will be greater with a reservation. For example, they prepare tapas plates so that you can see how various foods... More
