This is a big empty square in the middle of the old town of Rethymnon. Bordered by a big mosque and a newer building covered with graffiti. Not much else to see here really. Stick to the little lanes.

I learned a lot of history here. Very interesting site. I was with an OAT tour, and we stopped by there for a very informative history lesson. I had never heard of the 1923 population swap before.

This square is located in he centre of the old town. It is near the mosque and provides open space in the middle of the crowded old town. There is graffiti but other than that well maintained and presented. It is worth the visit.

Very interesting square in the heart of the city. It’s a shame about the graffiti but if you spend the time there it will reward you. Some of the graffiti is artistic but some are just tags and unsightly on the monument and buildings.

According to its name, this square refers to the greek refugees of the Asia Minor (Mikros) a century ago. If you are lucky, you can enjoy a folklore event
