This fountain is in the middle of a square with lots of places to eat around. It’s a nice area to visit.

Found this little gem when revisiting Heraklion recently in the middle part of the city and acts as a natural meeting up place with shops, market and cafes nearby. Very impressive history and architecture. Would recommend a viewing.

Nice little fountain that we came across during a leisurely wander around Heraklion city, and it does work and makes an interesting photo stop!

Old fountain in a square. Only takes a few minutes to see in the shopping district. Worth a quick stop.

This is a lovely and very popular fountain in the centre of the old town close to the Town Hall. It is surrounded by cafes and restaurants and was incredibly busy with visitors and locals alike.

Definitely worth seeking out these lions....reviewers say easy to find.....we were obviously looking in the wrong place!! Take plenty of photos as they actually look more photogenic than they first appear.

and carvings on fountain. Water was transported from the hills for the locals. Clever technique as ever. Lions were apparently much older than the fountain.

Hello, the Morosini Fountain is a 20 min walk. I reckon. I am not sure where exactly the cruise ships moor. But once you get to the bottom of 25th August street, you are in a pleasant pedestrian area. You walk straight up... More
