I decided to take the plunge in Elounda Bay and swim its length starting from Spinalonga to Elounda Village which is about a 5 Km swim. I swam in late October end of season so there was less boat and ship traffic in the Bay....More

After reading the book, The Island, this trip to Spinalonga set things in perspectives. IT was a strong experience to go in the tunnel, watch the houses, cementary, and also look over to Ellinda city. I higly recomanded this trip.

Someone handed us the book "The Island" so visiting Spinalonga was a must see for us. I enjoyed the walk, boat trip & views as much as the history.

We went on a guided tour although it was very informative we think we would have had a better time if we went independently as after the tour guide had finished talking we had very little time left to look around

Interesting experience on this small island with so much history. You can get there easily by ferry ride from Plaka. A bit windy when we visited.

There was no guide tour available at all, and it felt pointless since we didn't know anything about the place.

Hi I haven’t been from Agios but very easy to catch a bus to Plaka or Elounda and it’s a much shorter boat trip from there.

Its near the village of Pychro on the Lassithi Plateau. Follow the signs and you'll end up in a car park (€2.50) surrounded by shops. The sign says 200m to the cave, and it may be as the crow flies but it's a tough walk... More
