Absolutely lovely. Tiny, good for a wander. There was a lady sewing Cretan scenes upstairs. Just really friendly and quaint.

Very small and a bit amateurish - but done with a passion. Not really what I was expecting but time and effort has been put into it so well done for trying.

Not sure if it's worth a visit as it's very small. We only went here as it was a very wet day. If you have half an hour to spare then it's worth a quick look around.

Sometimes I feel rotten writing reviews like this, but I really don't think the folklore museum is worth even the €2 entry fee. It is a dusty jumble of bits of old Cretan life put together with no explanation in English, and very little in...More

It's next to the archeological museum, very cute with very gentle people to help you if you have any questions. Very interesting .. museum, you learn a lot about the life in Crete mostly in villages maybe about 60 years ago and more.

This was a very interesting museum, and shows Greek/Cretan life how it used to be. It is nicely put together and there are some fabulous embroideries on display, as well as traditional rooms, clothes and tools for weaving, wine making and farming. Only adults (over...More

This small museum, tucked away beside the Catholic Church, near the port area, is very well worth a visit. It packs into three or four small rooms items that show Cretan life until the very recent past. The memorabilia are fascinating and well laid out....More

At 2 Euros entrance fee, you might think this is some sort of cheap deal. It's quite the opposite, well worth a visit because the main objective is NOT to make money. The most fascinating thing about this tiny, endearing museum is the story behind...More

Situated in the old town accessed through an alleyway this little folk museum is worth a visit. It is small but crammed with memorabilia of a bygone era. A good way to avoid the midday sun for 30 minutes or so. Quaint!!

The Folklore Museum located in a small higgledy-piggledy house is packed with examples of everyday life in the near past in Crete - household; art and crafts; farming and music. I particularly enjoyed the albums of photographs from early in the 20th century and the...More
