Before passing into the open spaces of the Agora and walking around the wider site it is worth looking into the museum. Good range of sculpture in particular, though mostly fragmentary. Same for pottery. views across to the Observatory and the Hephaisteion from 2nd floor...More

Great on-site museum with a nice variety of artifacts. Most certainly worth a 20-30 minute walk through if you're already at the Ancient Agora anyways. Highly recommended.

The museum at the Ancient Agora is located inside the parthenon-styled monument and it is not huge. You could easily walk through the 2 floors in about half an hour. There are several statues and busts of prominent ancient Greeks.

First of all the reconstructed Stoa is absolutely fabulous. Really really impressive. And the museum, despite being small is really great. The ostraka of Themistocles, Aristides, and Kimon are particular highlights, and there is also a really nice Exekias Krater. A really excellent museum!

This nice little museum is a nice place to peruse amidst the pleasantries of the agora. It's worth mentioning off the bat that you do not have to pay to visit this museum, as long as you have your ticket for the agora. Whilst housing...More

The Museum is located within the bounds of the Ancient Agora site and housed in a 1950’s reconstruction of the Stoa of Attalos that originally dated from around 138-159 BC. The Stoa provided covered walkways, with rooms to the rear, that surrounded the marketplaces of...More
