The are is a must if you are in Athens and it is very easy to get there and have a walk. It is next to Plaka and Akropolis so you can combine them all. There are lots of souvenir shops also.

Nice little square in Athens. There's a metro station right in center. Lots of pedestrian zones right around here. Lots to eat around here.

Flavors images smells like old Athens. Under the shadow of Parthenon the place has a unique energy. Places, stores to eat and the old market at this scene.

Monastiraki is in the center of Athens with many small shops, coffee shops, local fast food 'restaurants'. Unfortunately is quite dirty and crowded.

Thus is truly the heart of Athens. Great area full of little shops and restaurants. Shame in recent years had become dirty and frequented by beggars

Even in quiet February the area was full of beggars and aggressive vendors. I caught someone with their hand in my pocket. Avoid.

Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is
where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the
tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki
