We chose this company as was recommended by friends and we were very happy with the experience and how well the staff (drivers & guides) interacted with all on the tour bus. All covid restrictions at the time of the service were followed (open windows/ventilation and masks etc) and the buses were clean & tidy.
Each person is supplied with factory wrapped headphones so that you can listen to the audio which informs you of the significance of the area, sights of the city and some background to the historical areas of interest during the whole travel time - you just need to select the correct channel to listen to for your language.
The open top bus is fabulous. Our trip was in October which turned out to be very windy and cold so remember to pack some warm clothing for this in the later months of the year.
Overall we would gladly recommend the company and their team - and we used them on another port visit as they provided a friendly and efficient service!

We traveled thru Athens in September 2022 and planned a hop on hop off tour to fill in the afternoon of arrival. Our travel mates arrived at the hotel later than expected, so we were on the top level of the bus about 4pm, when it was very hot. The afternoon traffic made it worse, when the bus was stopped at lights there was no air, when moving it was fine. All that to say, if you want to do this in the hot times of year, make sure you go earlier in the day. We have used these tours in other cities and always enjoyed them, for Athens

Exploring Athens on the hop-on-hop-off city tour with our friends from overseas was an absolute joy! This ingenious concept of Athens sightseeing is perfect for those with limited time in the city, providing a wonderful glimpse of this wonderful city. I would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a convenient and delightful way to experience the historic part of Athens.

The tour may be ok to get a first overview of the city for newbies. However, the busses are noisy and you permanently have the smell of diesel engine in your nose. At some stops the bus waited for several minutes without obvious reasons. Difficult to get seats with good view upstairs. When we got off at the old Olympic stadium we waited for half an hour (yes 30 mins) for the next bus, which was long and unpleasant to wait next to traffic. So overall not too recommendable, I would expect something more reliable and much more less polluting for this price.

Lady in the picture is from Peru. Illiterate- criticized the ruins, said there is nothing to see. Made us wait 35 minutes in one location to tell us the bus passes somewhere else and we had to wait another hour - big group of upset tourists. You see her walk away and ask a driver directly!

I did this tour soon after arriving in Athens. It’s a great way to see Athens. We switched over to the bus that goes to Riviera Beach and the last bus departs around 5pm so it’s best to take this one first and then the Athens loop.

Low season but spot on schedule and frequency. Our xmas hols in the Athens sun was not spoiled by waiting around for buses. When the Reds said it would arrive, it arrived!!!! We arrived on the last cruise ship into Piraeus port 2023 and hopped onto a waiting red bus. We were on the Acropolis and Parthenon inside 30 mind so were well pleased. From then onward to all the famous sites we were relaxed in the knowledge that we knew when a following bus would pick us up. We will return!

It was a great experience! All the staff working on the red buses were helpful and the drivers were excellent at driving! We had two days and did all the lines (we bought a ticket for 48h for the lines Athens Piraeus and Beach Riviera ) so in this way we filled our time!
A year ago we made the mistake of taking the Blue bus which then tempted us by saying that the Blue buses have cooperation with the Yellow buses with greater frequency .. the biggest mistake !! Indifferent staff, inattentive drivers and a below average tour and finally the frequency of the red bus was better!

Perfect tour and perfect service from the employees! We saw all the beauties of Athens, within 1 1/2 hours from the top floor of the bus, me and my children, who went crazy! We will certainly repeat the route immediately and I reserve the right to go to the Vouliagmeni route as well!

Although I live in Athens with my family, it was a very beautiful experience for us and for the children. We saw Athens differently and felt like tourists in our own city.
The staff are very polite and helpful and very willing to help.

Hi, after reading all the questions and answers, just wondering if the informaion provided is still current for June, 2023?
Also, coming for a day on a cruise, must I buy a ticket for the red line and also the green to visit the Acropolis and Acropoils Museum then return to the port..or is one, green or red, sufficient?

I think it is just one ticket. We visited in Feb which was the "off peak" season but if the other routes were running then I would have been able to go, it's also possible to check their website for up to date information. They were very easy to deal with and spoke English.

Do the stops for the Piraeus and Athens lines overlap? Is it easy to transfer from one line to the next if you start on the Piraeus route and wish to transfer to the Athens route as well?

The City sightseeing Tour has two routes. One route stops at the port gates of Piraeus and goes to the Acropolis in about 40 minutes. The other route interchanges with this route at the Acropolis and goes past most of the Athens' sights. this takes probably about one hour. The tours do not start till 1000 I think.
if you started at about 1000 at Piraeus port you could probably be back there by1230 to 1300 getting off only at the Acropolis.
You can buy tickets on the buses but for this you have to buy the two different tours. In October they were giving both tours for the price of one but if not you can buy the other tour on the bus. Another possibility is to get an earlier train from Piraeus to Athens and get to the nearest hop-on hop-off stop by 1000 and only do the Athens tour.

We will be in Athens fro 12 hours on Sunday October 6 from a cruise ship.

1. Is it any stop at the Port?
2. What Bus should we take (Red, Blue or Yellow) we are only interested in the Athens route. I have read that you have to take the blue one and then transfer to the red one?
3. I have read that the map they provide is difficult to read....where can I get a map of the main attractions
4. Does the Athens route offer a walking tour?

We're going to Athens in August and we're trying to figure out which ticket/routes to get- on the City Sightseeing site itself only the Athens and Piraeus routes are shown even though the third route Riviera is meant to continue into October. What is the Riviera route?

Athens Line : The Tour operates daily and is every 15 minutes (1st April-31st Oct) ) from 08.30 until 21.00. The Tour takes approximately 90 minutes and traces the history and culture of Athens with a commentary in 12 languages
Piraeus Line the tour is every 30 minutes These two tours interchange at Bus Stop A7 Acropolis & Parthenon. Both tours trace the history and culture of Athens & Piraeus in 12 languages.
Athens & Beach-Riviera Line : This tour provides the perfect way to see all the best sights and attractions along the Argosaronic Gulf coastal road, which passes from Piraeus to Vouliagmeni. . The lake on our tour is a unique, warm water, therapeutic lake directly opposite Vouliagmeni organised beach and provides for Spa treatment all year round.
Our tour operates daily and is every 60 minutes from 09.35 in the morning until 17.35 end19.25 in the evening (1st April-31st Oct). The Main Terminal is at our stop A5, Melina/Plaka, and the route runs straight to the coast.
