You can take the “elevador” up for 3 euros return trip or drive up, with plenty of parking at the top. The sanctuary is beautiful, and the view is one of the best we’ve had in our two weeks touring Portugal. If you do one...More

it looks interesting from the city ...up on a hill, the most interesting part finally is the furnicular ride up and down and the fantastic view from the steps of the church, the inside, lets call it kitchy catholic, the outside is a copy of...More

Fairly impressive church up top of the hill overlooking the city. If you are at all claustrophobic and/or don't like heights, do not take the elevator tour, 3 people in our party changed their minds as we got near the top and if you aren't...More

From the outside this building is very special but when you enter it takes your breath away. The painting of Christ rising is really astounding and the whole ambiance is truly stupendous. I can highly recommend a visit to here.

Lovely church that is not as old as you may think it has amazing views from the main steps up to the front and a beautifully serene and prayerful area beneath for private prayer and reflection

In a fantastic spot high over the town with views over the estuary. The building and its surroundings are serene and we were lucky enough to be there when a nun sang unaccompanied for a few minutes, beautiful experience.
