You can take the “elevador” up for 3 euros return trip or drive up, with plenty of parking at the top. The sanctuary is beautiful, and the view is one of the best we’ve had in our two weeks touring Portugal.

From the outside this building is very special but when you enter it takes your breath away. The painting of Christ rising is really astounding and the whole ambiance is truly stupendous. I can highly recommend a visit to here.

The funicular is a little hard to find . It is only 3 euros return. The sanctuary is well worth a visit. The views are incredible. The building is kept beautifully. There is a lift that takes you to the very top of the building....More
In a fantastic spot high over the town with views over the estuary. The building and its surroundings are serene and we were lucky enough to be there when a nun sang unaccompanied for a few minutes, beautiful experience.
