After we found out where this place was on the road to the Pousada, in an office style silver/grey box with a sliding door. We weren't disappointed. The Roman ruins are extensive and very interesting. Walking around gives you a glimpse of the scale of...More

This was a great quick trip out of the busy city center and back in time. Wonderful and inexpensive way to see both the Cathedral and Ancient Ruins on a short walk. We even stopped at the picnic area (which was empty) and had a...More

There is a good boardwalk which takes you over the remains, where you can marvel at the closeness and precision of the builders of these structures which were laid long ago. Not much signage, but still worth the money.

I loved walking on the pathways through the citania. We bought the guide for €1 and spent several hours absorbing the atmosphere and history. It was totally empty. Note: it's closed from 13:00 to 14:00. Admission is free.

Beautifully excavated and maintained. Got a real feel for what it must have been like. You must see.
