Nice Statue near MacDonald. take a picture if you are in the area. Municipality keep it clean as it become targeted by Tourists

The Newspaper Vendor Statue on the main square next to the railway station is always the target for the photo-takers. See if you can find it during your visit there.

I wouldn’t go out of my way to find it unless you have some connection to the news industry. But unlike the previous review states the statue is still standing!

Sadly the newspaper vendor statue is no more,I had it as a sight to see and couldn’t work out how I kept missing it. There was a message written in English saying roughly if you can’t respect our culture/heritage then go back to your own...More

This is a quirky statue in the main square. It is something of a tradition in Porto to have your picture taken at the statue.

this is one of Porto's traditions and also portuguese tradition, newspapers boys/men selling the newspapers in the streets, called ardinas in portuguese. this is located in a sidewalk between Avenida dos Aliados and Sao Bento station. take a pic and show it to your kids...More

Both times that I passed this 'attraction', it seemed to be mainly being used for the latter. I would certainly not recommend a special trip to see it, but there are many other real attractions close by that will probably bring you to see it.

The statue is a tribute to newspaper vendors and is located across from the Sao Bento train station. It makes one smile.
