You do not have to be a religious person to enjoy the beautiful church of Carmo. Its facade is a work of art as well as its altar and its chapels. A must in Porto

I haven't see anything like this anywhere else in Europe. The side of the church is covered in painted tiles. You could stare at the details for hours.

Inside nothing special, just another ordinary church but from outside it's beautiful. You definitely should see it if you are in Porto.

The Church itself it nice- I paid the extra 2.50E to go inside the hidden house and the catacombs. You can also obtained a Camino stamp and passport here. The tiny house was underwhelming and cramped with all the fellow tourist squished in. House is...More

A total scam. Catacombs were closed after we purchased a ticket for all three sights (house, church, catacombs). You shouldn’t have to pay money to visit a church. Visit other baroque churches that do not require an admission fee.

It was 96 degrees while we were there. Upon entering, a female employee couldn't have been nicer. She offered for us to sit down while in the church and spend all the time we would like, as well as take pictures. She went out of...More

The Igreja do Carmo is unique not only for the amazing tile but it's proximity to another catholic church next to it. Fun to see little house that separates the two.

Located next to the Igreja do Carmelitas and with the narrowest house in Porto connecting them, this is a lovely church with beautiful tiled panels and a classy locking roof. Well worth checking out.
