Located in the narrow streets of the old town there are very good views of the district. Sadly, when we were there, the fires were raging in the forests around the town. Visit the new archaeological museum nearby

Situated overlooking the town and giving good views. A bit of a trudge uphill if the weather is hot but probably worth it. Very little of the castle remains but what is there is well restored. Not much information available in english unfortunately.Helpful staff.

Quite a steep climb up then you can actually go into the castle with its tower. Not much to see apart from amazing views

It's worth walking up the hill to this castle, and to take in the 360° views of Lamego with surrounding areas. Inside the castle keep, there are a few reconstructed medieval machines of war. Take care on the winding wooden staircase to the top...more so...More

it is quite an uphill hike to the entrance of the castle, so we were disappointed to find it was closed for the day (Monday) when we visited. A pity as it had been highly recommended by our B&B host. Teach us to do our...More
