I would say that it was more interesting to go up the hill via tiny streets than the small castle itself that has some interesting old weapons exhibit and some history to learn.

We parked the car and were intending to go to another place but thought we’d have a look at the Castle first. It’s good to see the Keep but our favourite thing was actually wandering through the streets inside the old walls. The homes are...More

Like many of the castles, a few cannons and barrels, no need to visit if you have already seen a few

Located in the narrow streets of the old town there are very good views of the district. Sadly, when we were there, the fires were raging in the forests around the town. Visit the new archaeological museum nearby

Situated overlooking the town and giving good views. A bit of a trudge uphill if the weather is hot but probably worth it. Very little of the castle remains but what is there is well restored. Not much information available in english unfortunately.Helpful staff.

Very intresting and tipical, where ancient streets are still the same, and the night life is special

A National Monument, the Castle of Lemego is the highest point in town and being so it offers an opportunity to see the surrounding Douro Valley. The oldest date I saw ascribed to it was 10AC although it has been documented since the 10th century...More

Quite a steep climb up then you can actually go into the castle with its tower. Not much to see apart from amazing views
