This old castle is very nicely maintained and surrounded by narrow, quaint streets. There is a walkway around the main wall that gives a good view. There are some exhibits but they look to be a work in progress with some damage to the already...More

A quaint castle overlooking the town . Built above the town it gives a great view of 360 degrees. It was built over a Roman site and is reached through a medieval city gate. The castle's fine tower gives some impression of how the fortifications...More

There is nothing special, but the castle is well renovated. The view from there is nice and they have some information about the plane's history. You can visit it in 30 minutes and learn a bit more about Lamego.

Free entrance and a very hospitable local guide explaining the castle's history. Lamego being one of the oldest towns with Guimaraes carries a ton of history. Castle is pretty with a big watch tower to be seen from far. Our car was parked just below...More

I would say that it was more interesting to go up the hill via tiny streets than the small castle itself that has some interesting old weapons exhibit and some history to learn.

Located in the narrow streets of the old town there are very good views of the district. Sadly, when we were there, the fires were raging in the forests around the town. Visit the new archaeological museum nearby

Situated overlooking the town and giving good views. A bit of a trudge uphill if the weather is hot but probably worth it. Very little of the castle remains but what is there is well restored. Not much information available in english unfortunately.Helpful staff.

There are two ways up at least to the castle if when you turn off of the main road you turn right it is VERY steep. If you turn left it's easier! The castle is quite small with nit a lot in it except if...More
