I'm in love with this street. It's very touristy, full of restaurants and little shops. The whole street is decorated, which makes it even more animated. Honestly, it's the only thing I recommend in the city.

A must if you're in the old town of Funchal. Some of the doors are covered in 'street art' and are worth a look. The restaurants are vibrant, creating a wonderful atmosphere - and the choice is huge!

Touristy? Pushy? Genuine? Yes, all three are true to an extent but there is no doubt that this street in the 'zona velha' is atmospheric - and there are plenty of surprisingly good (and good-value) restaurants!

While exploring the old town we found this street with painted doors and wall art. Dont know if its traditional - but worth seeking out.
