We booked this tour at extremely short notice but Ana arranged for Ruben to meet us at the station before Sintra to beat the crowds. This was the first of many things that saved us time in the seeing sights of Sintra and beyond.
August in Sintra is very busy and the narrow roads choked with traffic meant we had to change our plans a few times. While others were stuck in traffic, we just went to plan B and got to see a lot more than we could have done by ourselves. Ruben was knowledgeable, friendly, a good driver and very calm under pressure on the road.
Due to the heavy traffic and a closed road before our last stop, our 7 hour trip took close to 9 hours. At our first stop, Cabo da Roca, Ruben gave us bottles of cold water and after the tour he gave us some local cakes.
After a long day we decided to have dinner in Sintra before getting the train back to Lisbon, Ruben not only had a restaurant suggestion but he also took the time to walk with us to the restaurant.
The tour price does not include admission to the attractions but to us we are glad we got the chance to be driven around all day, and not have to queue once, with someone like Ruben. We felt sorry for the people who may have saved some money but wasted their time in queues.

We had great time and guide was very informative and explained us everything we asked for. He did his best to organize everything and he even surprised us with one extra location and some good viewpoints. I would definitely suggest you to take this tour. 5/5*

We (four of us from Canada) arrived in Sintra by train today and we passed a number of tour operators and one of our folks on the trip managed to find Ruben - who was an excellent tour guide and was one of the most helpful individual in sorting out what we wanted to do while on our short day stay in Sintra. He was very professional and courteous and knew his facts very well and given that he grew up in Sintra he knew a number of the locals and even gave us some great options for dessert store and dinner place that had a live band that we enjoyed so very much. Ruben was a fantastic tour guide for us for the day and we started at about 12:20pm and he was with us until just past 8pm. We hit all the major points and he waited for us and told us where to meet and what to do and even got tickets for us ahead of the various lineups. If you saw the lineups for the hop off/hop on or the regional public bus 434 you would be very very glad that you booked this. NO STRESS!!!
Ruben - thank you for making the day so special for the four Canadians today - we owe you a special gratitude and warm thank you!! Until we meet again...
Four Canadians who loved there last day in Portugal thanks to Ruben.

Soo happy we were able to tour with Ana to Sintra/Cascais. We never could have done the trip, like she showed us, on our own, Ana picked us up at our hotel in Cascais and took us to Sintra explaining everything, but not overdoing it. We would never retain too much information. Sintra was very busy and Ana found great parking spots so we didn't have to hike too far to see the important sites. We went to a reasonably priced lunch and drove back seeing the beaches, resorts, etc along the coast. Very beautiful. I think we made the day a little shorter than a usual tour
but, it was really hot and hadn't recovered from jet lag.

We booked a tour of Sintra with Ana for our party of five. Ruben met us at the train station and drove us around to the Quinta Regaleria, the Conventos dos Capuchos, and was even flexible enough to accommodate a hunt for long sleeved shirts/ jackets for those in our party who suddenly realized they needed them, a last minute decision to do the Pena Palace instead of the Moorish Castle, and a visit to Piriquita to try some of the queijades de sintra. Ana was very responsive during the booking process and Ruben was a great guide. Highly recommended!

I visited Sintra with my friends and we got 4 tickets for the hop on hop off bus tour in an attempt to be thrifty, then we stood in line to wait for it. After it was 45 minutes late, we were furious and demanded a refund (and got it) then went back the train station to see our options. That's where we met Ruben from Ana's Adventures, and hired a private car tour.
At the end of the day, we paid almost the same for a guided tour and we got to pick the stops we wanted to make and even went to the beach. Ruben was an absolute delight and made the trip extremely fun, especially after we had all been stressed out by the waste of time that was the hop on hop off bus. He really saved our day!

We visited Sintra with our daughter and her boyfriend on Monday 8 May. Monday is very busy as the museums and galleries are closed on Monday, so many tourists head for the hills. The queues in Rossio station warned us from the start that it was perhaps not the best day to go. However in alighting in Sintra our hearts sank at the sight of a very long queue for the 434 bus which you can take to the sights in Sintra itself. We then spotted Reuben, who, somewhat against my Scottish judgment, offered to drive us round all the sights and take us to Cabo de Roca. He was very helpful and informative, drove us round all the amazing sights, left us to our own devices where appropriate and generally ensured we made the most of our day in Sintra. Highly recommended.

We can not say enough good things about Ana. She was very helpful , punctual, friendly, and informative. She helped us even before the tour with train schedule from Entrecampos station near Sheraton hotel in Lisbon. We have four tours in Portugal and this is clearly the best one that we had. The van was spacious for our group of 4. Our visit to Pena palace, Moorish castle and Quinta de Regaleira with Ana was memorable. I don't think I can do that efficiently in 7-8 hours without Ana. She booked our lunch at Incomum in Sintra which was fantastic. She even bought a bag of delicious cookies for us at the end. Highly recommend.

Hi Ana. My family and I (four of us in all) will be arriving in Sintra from Coimbra on April 13th. We will be staying at an AirBnB right on the ocean, near Sintra. We were wondering if we could hire you for a tour on April 14th? We will have only half a day, unfortunately, as we then are going to Lisbon. So, several questions for you: 1) are you available that day? 2) if so, how long would a tour be and do you use a car? 3) how much would it cost to give us a private tour? Thanks so much, Mark

As of March 19, 2019, there is no response from Ana’s Adventures by email or by phone using the phone and email on the website. Is there any other information for this tour company?

A question for Ana and/or the TripAdvisor community: Is Ana's Adventures in Sintra still operating? What is the best way to reach them to book a tour? Over the last several weeks I have tried to book using their web form, several email messages, and FB messenger, but I've not received a response. Thanks for your help.

Hi, James Daniel. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Is this company still in business? Google lists them as "permanently closed".
