Amazing Place
Oct 2018 • Friends
We stopped at this place because it looked very cozy, friendly and personal. Carlos is another reason to visit this place! We had a fun conversation with him while we were enjoying the wines ( both red and white were exceptional!) and the cheese and the meat tapas plates. The place is not crowded and has awesome atmosphere, food and wines. If you'll be visiting the Palace in Quelez, you must visit Carlos who is just a couple of blocks away from the Palace. You'll be pleasantly surprised and will experience real taste of Portugal.

First of all... Go visit the Palace in Quelez as its stunning... Then visit Carlos for stories and wine. He is charming and full of knowledge about wines of Lisbon . We happily spent an hour enjoying his company, several glasses of rose and ginja!

Perfect first night in Portugal
Sep 2017 • Couples
Ok, I have to admit that I have this fantasy about Portugal. Fantastic music, soulful people sharing their feelings around amazing locally produced wine in a small family restaurant while being served a variety of local cheeses, sausage grilled at the table...well all of these things came to life with Carlos at the Botequim. He made our night with his stories, gave us excellent advice about how to see Lisbon and even offered to walk us to another restaurant the next night, to be sure we got the best and freshest fish!
Just GO! And put yourself in Carlos' hands. You won't be sorry.

Amazing venue!
Jan 2017 • Couples
We visit Queluz on a regular basis and always ensure we visit Carlos at Botequim da Paderia. Carlos always makes us feel really welcome. He has a wonderful selection of wines and always prepares us tasty nibbles to accompany the wine.

We highly recommend this wine bar to anyone who is visiting Queluz. Carlos can't do enough for you and is friendly and extremely welcoming and knowledgable about the wines that are available. The wines are very reasonably priced.

This is a venue that definitely has to be visited.

Amazing little spot!
Oct 2016 • Couples
We search for this little place for two days only to find it 5 minutes from where we were staying. It has no sign but is right behind the Gilia Restaurant. It was well worth searching for! An incredible assortment of wines with amazingly reasonable prices, great tapas and the wonderful Mr. Carlos to share thoughts on wine, food and Portugal - amazing! We spent three afternoons there sipping wines and chatting with Carlos. What a lovely spot!

Ideal Spot to Wine and Dine After Palacio de Queluz
May 2016 • Friends
Spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon in this lovely wine room. The owner, a man called Carlos, offers not only a horde of delicious wine, cheeses, and meats, but a wealth of knowledge for visitors visiting Lisbon and this neighbourhood of Queluz. The shop is located just two minutes from the Palacio de Queluz, and after a lovely day of touring the palace halls and gardens, we found Carlos' establishment to be the perfect respite to eat, drink, and relax. Whether alone or with company, this picturesque place is ideal for a breather and for some sumptuous local delights.

Wine Bistro
Nov 2015 • Couples
Great little store to visit and purchase a bottle of wine or port or to sit and have a glass of either and chat with the owner. Carlos Fernandes knows a great deal about the area and if not too busy very willing to sit and chat. Opens at 4 in the afternoon and can also provide meats and cheese platter for an appetizer. Very reasonable prices and just up the street from the Palacio de Queluz. After discovering his place on the first night we went back each night during our stay for 3 nights in Queluz as the atmosphere is very relaxing and great to chat with the owner.
