The collection that interested me most was the modern native Portuguese artists, Sculptors and Graphic designers. The Masters Collection was not up the standards of many European cities but I was most impressed by the depth of national talent.

It is these types of gems that make a longer stay in a locale worthwhile. This is a tremendous gallery. The main art displayed are two immensely talented artists. I did not know of them previously but their work is genius. In addition the exhibitions...More

Although it can't be considered a big museum in terms of the numbers of paintings in exibition it shows a considerable variety of paintings representative of the art of Arpad Szenes and Vieira da Silva.

Nice space, nice welcome, little cafe with super good pasteis de nata and smiling waitress. But lack of explanations on both artists lives and intentions make it truly boring. Paintings are repetitive and not the artists bests so a bit more effort could make a...More

I went here a couple of times for a coffee in the excellent little cafe, and once to view the exhibition. I had never heard of the artists and loved learning all about them. The gallery was empty one morning, so one of the front...More
