The Casa de Santa Maria is really gorgeous, inside and out. It was empty except for me, which was a nice break from all the tourists. Really cool tiles and stunning views. I did not realize, though, that the lighthouse was not accessible on the...More

Paid 4 euros, to see the fancy house and lighthouse. The fancy house was nothing special really, looked better on the outside. The lighthouse museum was 3 small rooms with nothing really to it and takes about 10 minutes to go around. What makes matters...More

So today we paid €4 each to visit. Unfortunately they don't tell you beforehand that you can only enter the lighthouse itself Wednesday - Friday 11:00 until 12:00.

Just between Cascais Marina and Boca do Inferno, along the coast, you find this hidden beautiful place. Rocks, little bit of water, beach, old house and a lighthouse, all makes a scenic image. Must see in Cascais.

The lighthouse overlooks an estuary and makes for a picturesque little scene. There is a lighthouse museum you can visit or just settle for the postcard perfect shot instead.

It's a cultural place, renoved in 2006 and opened in 2007 vor visit and leisure; you can climb to the lighthouse tower if you want; there are exhibitions rooms; you can observe plattforms of the 17th century fort of Santa Maria.

All you want to know about the history of lighthouses in Portugal is well explained here, with many exhibits. The whole area is perfectly well restored with stunning views over the sea.

Visited this lighthouse this afternoon. Unfortunately the reception was closed but you can still walk around and enjoy the views, both out to sea and of the Marina. The lighthouse is modern and very picturesque. The courtyard closes at 5pm, but until then you are...More
