This was an excellent experience. We were surprised at the astonishing and spectacular altar. This visit is highly recommended as it is a 'cultural gem'.

The woodwork in this church is beyond your imagination. Really fabulous. For the rest is it a small museum with also temporary exhibitions.

The museum was varied and engaging and the entry price is very reasonable. However, it was a little disconcerting that staff were following us around and they were all oddly strict about the order in which the rooms had to be navigated.

It depends on your interests but I didn't like much. There was a promotion so i just paid 1€ so for this price worth a visit. The church is nice and they have some interesting information about Sao Miguel's history and wild life

Yes, this is a mistake. The Carlos Machado Museum is really located in Ponta Delgada only not in Madeira island, but in the Azores.
