This is the iconic structure for town where everyone takes a photo. Pretty square with cafes and restaurants around. Lovely.

The gates are not that much, but they are the historical entrance to the city. A lovely city with 3 cruise ships in port. Seems like another paradise lost.

Picturesque entry to the city from the harbor. Many small restaurants and shops nearby. Beautiful hand layed cobblestone.

Not far off the sea front are the old city gates of Ponta Del Garda, with a church in the background, pleasant to stroll to and take photos

It's smack dab in the center of Porta Delgado, you can't miss it. The other church in town is nicer. Sunday morning call to church bells are really neat.

There isn’t a lot other than the gates but it is a lovely place for a walk. It was a Sunday when we visited, so most places were closed but still a lovely walk.

The gates themselves do not really lead anywhere but they are located in the heart of the old town by the Igreja Matrix. The old town is pretty to walk through.

One can't walk around the city without coming across these gates. Fable has it that if you pass through one gate, you will definitely return to the city, a second one and you will get married in the city, the third and you will die...More
