That said, I was very surprised that they don’t charge anything to visit here (unless you want to go to the private pools in the spa). There are showers and changing rooms, as well as a snack/gift shop on the way down to the sea....More

A natural pool, where the cold ocean water mixes with the hot mineral spring - and there's you, hanging on to the ropes, enjoying this crazy nature's game. I loved it. :) Tips: You have to know exactly where to go - when you arrive...More

Small pool, over-crowded and dirty... (plenty of cigarettes everywhere on the soil) Is that nature promoted by São Miguel ?

Strange feeling to climb into the sea on a cold day and find the water hot as in a bathtub. Most warm inside , close to the inner cliffs. Nice and natural, for free and no excess in touristic arrangements. Go on low tide to...More

Loved this place! It was busy for good reason. A beautiful spot, excellent facilities but most of all you get to climb down into sea water warmed by a geothermal spring, 28 degrees of bliss for my arthritic bones. Couple of words of warning -...More

We UTV'd there and planned with the tour guide to go into the hot springs when the tide was low. Unique sensation to be in hot water while cold waves crash in. Keep a hold of the rope, especially if not a good swimmer
