Second time here. This time we could actually see the view. It is not that long of a drive on a good road. When we went here a few years ago you could not see to the other side of the carpark. It was great...More

Breathtaking views over the whole of the Algarve and beyond! Very healthy environment setting filled with fresh air, not an ounce of pollution. Rather invigorating, really. Very good for meditation too. You can also fill up bottles of the very healthy water that comes all...More

It’s a bit of a drive but the views are fantastic. Very windy too. Local artisans sell their handiwork in the shop. Good ceramic stuff from Leonel Telo.

Interesting trip up the mountain - roads are good but narrow - take your time and let your passengers enjoy the views until you park at the top

This was my first visit, yet the drive almost prepared me for the stupendous views (in several directions) from the top of this 901m mountain. I am told that one can almost see Lisbon on a good day. Today wasn’t a good day and the...More

Even though the cold wind was whistling and we had to carefully open the car doors the views from the top are spectacular.

It really is worth the leisurely drive through the beautiful, changing countryside up to the summit here. It's so easy too: there's plenty of parking, so you just pull up, get out and the view's right there! Absolutely awesome at sunset - a bit like...More

We drove from Alvor with a planned route but got detoured by road construction on the 125......the drive was on winding roads that sometimes had little to no shoulders with significant drops below.....if you approach from the village of Monchique be aware of the Foia...More

Mount Foia is the highest point in the Alharve region in Southern Portugal, I was expecting amazing viewpoints for pictures but it was so high we were shrouded in the clouds. I touched the sky. 902 metres above sea level. I have been much higher...More

Well worth the half hour trek up from Monchique to the summit of Foia. Great views all the way up through woodland and open spaces along well defined tracks. Great photo opportunities all the way! Passes a very nice restaurant too called Jardim D'Oliveras.
