The bravery of some people defy description. Noel Chavasse, RAMC, twice awarded the VC (one of only three people) and an Military Cross. Lies with colleagues. A place of pilgrimage. Convenient parking nearby, flat short walk from the road to the cemetery.

Travelled to see the resting place of Noel Chavasse, three military Cemeteries in Brandhoek which is a small and unremarkable place. Its hard to imagine the horror of what it would have been like during the first world war.

A well kept War Graves Commission Cemetry with graves of many British and allied soldiers lost in WW1.

Tucked behind a row of houses very discreet but truly sobering. With another two cemeteries with in a very short distance making all three worth while visiting. Nothing else to add as as all been said before in previous posts.

There are 3 Brandhoek cemeteries very close together, all worth a visit. Captain Chavasse's memorial was what we were on a mission to find and this proved no problem. A beautiful site, as expected. Look out for other, smaller memorials tucked away by the side...More

Basically the cemetery is overlooked by the garden of some bungalows (i'd find it hard to overlook this cemetery constantly because the history of the whole area is so moving). We went specifically to look at the headstone of the double VC - Noel Chavasse...More

The only CWGC in the world where you can see a double VC - Noel Chavasse. The cemetery is covered in the series 'In Continuing & Grateful Memory - The Brandhoek Sector' that I got in the bookshop at the Cloth Hall. Really good, has...More

A beautifully set out military cemetery that seems to be in people's gardens. Well maintained and containing grave of double vc holder Noel Chavasse.

Not that I am aware of, although given the location there must be something. The other idea is rent a bike and go the 5-6 kMs west of Ieper. Lot of e-bikes for rent in Ieper.
