The ramparts and surprisingly wide, so never seem crowded. There are a variety of places on interest indicated on the walk and several bench seats. The views are very pleasing and it is a very relaxing place to spend an hour or more.

Ramparts are reminder of a long history of Ypres but also a nice place to walk and escape from roaring town. I walked there several times from Menin Gate up to Ramparts cemetery and then either walked back to the town or crossed the bridge...More

Excellent walking round parts of Ypres older defences. Connects to the Menin Gate which makes for a superb finish combined with the last post ceremony.

Really nice walk around a good bit of old Ypres. You really get a “different” view of the city and a feel for the history of the city. You can walk it as slow as you want or even use it for a nice jogging...More

a great place to take a relaxing walk, and think about what Ypres has meant to the many thousands who gave their lives for this place, it really is an area of calm, away from the town centre and all the magnificent architecture and monuments

A pleasant town surrounded by the moat. There is a cemetery at the southern end of the ramparts. Worth a diversion.

Huge ramparts always like parks in sections. Great to have a moat and good views of the city as you walk along it.

Built alongside a picturesque river. Making for a lovely short from the Menim Gate to the Ramparts Cemetery.
